Community involvement and social responsibility are part of our culture at Entergy and Vermont Yankee. Through corporate philanthropy, grants and individual contributions, the region surrounding Vermont Yankee received more than $300,000 in financial contributions in 2010. Donations helped provide for a range of programs and activities including senior meals, music lessons, library upgrades and fire department equipment.

Vermont Yankee Assists the Brattleboro Boys and Girls Club after Water Pipe

When Vermont Yankee site Vice President Mike Colomb heard that a water pipe at the Brattleboro Boys and Girls Club had burst, destroying the lower level dance floor and ruining the carpet in the computer lab, he decided to adopt the BBGC as Vermont Yankee’s community project for 2010. The first thing VY provided the club with was new carpeting for their computer lab.
